Online training with Image Innovators SA

While I am completely happy in my career, and have no intention of doing anything else full-time, I keep thinking if I could go back and study again, what would I choose?

With an academic background in English Literature and Political Science, I always knew I wanted to do a course in something more creative. I dabbled with the idea of interior decorating for a while, but over the past year or so, I knew I wanted to dip my toes into personal styling. A year of wanting-to-but-not-doing-anything-about-it came and went – and, I don’t know whether I can blame it on my 31st birthday last month making me a little antsy, but, it’s finally happening.

After doing months of research, I came across Image Innovators, an international company who have just launched in South Africa – adding us to their list of global offices, that includes Melbourne, New York, Guadalajara and Dubai. I had a few criteria that I needed my chosen institution to have, and Image Innovators ticked all of them – including being internationally accredited with the Association of Image Consultants International, a course I could complete online, and comprehensive syllabus.

Introducing Image Innovators’ Image Consultant Online training programme.

I’ve only just begun – fitting in a video lesson or two in the evenings – but am already excited to hand in my first assignment. Having not been enrolled in any form of official learning for 10 years, I’m quite liking being an older student, but more so, actually enjoying what I’m learning.

The Image Consultant Online training programme is broken up into 3 modules:

Style and image managementMulti-racial advanced colour analysisBusiness building course

There are 63 lessons and 14 assignments that cover everything from personal style expression and accessories to lines and design to the history of fashion and form. You can view the full course breakdown and FAQs here. You’re also assigned a stylist mentor, who answers any questions you might have and marks your assignments, and just offer some friendly encouragement.

As it’s an online course, there is no timeframe in which you need to complete it – I have no deadline in mind at the moment, but will hopefully have a better idea once I’m halfway. I love the flexibility of doing a few lessons in the evenings or weekends – perfect for those who have a full-time job and want to work on their side hustle.

What are my plans?

While my initial motivation for doing this course was based on my love of clothes and putting outfits together, I also want to use the knowledge I gather to help other women feel good about themselves – at any size. So, once I’m finished and accredited, I will be offering personal styling services to women – think uplifting meetings where you leave loving your body just a little bit more, and excited to get dressed in the mornings. I can’t wait.

Not ready to commit, or want to see what it’s all about, first? Head on over here for a free introduction to the course and access to one of the modules online.

Thank you to Image Innovators for giving me the opportunity to do this course.

Candice, once you’ve completed your course I’d be very interested to try your styling services. You’re such an inspiration and your outfits are always so tastefully put together 🙂
