I took mom on a little shopping spree to @miladyssa to update her wardrobe with a few smart-casual looks - and, of course, couldn’t help having a little browse myself. It’s pretty different for me, but my last outfit is actually my favourite. Wide-legged? Blush pink? PANTS? Who would have thought? (Also, the bloopers from filming this are incredible. Consistency above intensity. Discipline above motivation. Two guiding principles that I’ve kept front of mind over the past few years.

It’s been a year of learning SO much about how my body works - and, for that I’m grateful.

A snapshot of my journey so far:
🍽️ 2020 - 2022: generally healthier eating, HIIT workouts
🏋🏼‍♀️ 2023: calorie deficit and increased strength training
🔥 2024: intermittent fasting, increased strength training, running once a week, occasional hot yoga

As we head into silly season, with New Year’s Resolutions ahead - please don’t be tempted by quick fixes, restrictive diets, pills, potions or injections. I’ve been there. I’ve done that. It’s never lasted.

And, remember: what you look like is the least interesting thing about you 🫶🏼 (I’m still technically obese according to my BMI, so also take that with a pinch of salt!)

I finally made it to @mulberryandprince_ct for breakfast - initially a little skeptical that it was mostly hype, and little substance - I was thrilled to be so very thoroughly wrong. Yes, the interiors and service are fantastic - but, it’s the food that steals the show. Exceptional coffee, and fresh, homemade, delicious food - with well-considered elements and flavours (Brown butter Hollandaise! Whipped honeycomb butter!) it’s definitely a treat visit, and we’ll be back.

Start with a guided wine tasting (the @silvermistvineyards Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blend was my surprise winner), before heading in for an experience than blends the history of African instruments, with an entertaining - and interactive - show. We came with no expectations and had the BEST time 🪘 #gifted

That, and dinner with a special friend, the way @saltkalkbay never disappoints, and sunsets that make everything just a little bit better.

You asked for details on what I eat,

I do intermittent fasting (generally fasting 16 to 18 hours a day, you can look at the comments on my previous post for more details and answers about the why and how).

I don’t count calories or cut out food groups.

- Frame 1: a typical breakfast around 10h30 to break my fast: Greek yoghurt, berries and a crumbled protein bar
- Frame 2: black iced coffee, which I drink before 10h30, while I’m still fasting.
- Frame 3: a typical lunch option: pita with garlic cream cheese, hummus, aubergine, spiced lamb and herbs (inspired by @eleanorgwilkinson)
- Frame 4: another typical lunch option: smashed potato and trout salad (an @emthenutritionist recipe)

I’ll generally have breakfast (with a proper latte!), lunch like the above and then depending on how hungry I am, another full meal (similar to lunch), or a snack (protein smoothie, fruit, whatever I’m in the mood for) - before I close my eating window between 16h30 and 18h30.
