After a few trips to Paris, I finally made it to the iconic Bar Hemingway @ritzparis. Knowing that there are no reservations. You arrive, you wait and you hope for the best, it was always a risk - but, one that paid off for us last night. It’s even smaller than I expected - 11 tables. Intimate, completely closed off from the outside world - and truly worth visiting if you can. Low leather armchairs, incredible cocktails and service, enjoyed over hushed tones, spiced nuts…and, roses, of course. One for the memory books.

Lunch at @restaurantletrainbleu - beautiful, iconic - but, no need to return more than once. We had their signature roast lamb, sliced tableside.

Then… @vaux.le.vicomte - the largest privately owned historic residence in France, and the location of Versailles (the series) and Marie Antoinette (the movie). I don’t know the full history, but one day, twenty years ago the owners woke up and decided they really, REALLY love Christmas, so they turn the chateau into a festive fever-dream every year. Themed trees and displays in every room, ice skating, horse drawn carriages, vin chaud, toasted marshmallows, a light show - and red velvet capes for everyone. It was lovely seeing that 80% - if not more - of the visitors were French!

A rainy Sunday spent in Montmartre - the last of the rain before temperatures start plummeting to -4 this coming week.

- Starting the day with coffee @noir_coffeeshop and the best neighbourhood pooches (and a spirited conversation with the barista and a local about why no Parisian café’s use fresh milk)
- The artists of Place du Tertre
- Fortified with vin chaud (and taking my life into my own hands, walking, drinking and wearing beige).
- The most incredible lunch @lemoulindelagaletteofficiel (The service! The vibe! The food! Our waiter!) at - can’t recommend enough

To most people - not extraordinary or noteworthy. But to me, the perfect Saturday. A great gym session. A phenomenal time at the beach. A homemade breakfast sandwich, and fresh, ripe, crunchy, sweet watermelon. A Saturday of gratitude.

You may just see a dress, but there was a LOT of bravery and self-talk to actually put it on and walk out the door to the office. It’s short, I think I own one dress that shows my knees, so it’s a big step in me overcoming an insecurity.
