Despite the recent mild spell we’ve had in the Cape, it’s still truly wintry out there. I’m mostly sorted with my selection of jackets and coats – and have the staples in my wardrobe – but was on the look out for something special for smarter occasions.
I spotted this sequinned number on Superbalist, and knew it had to be mine. I often joke that my dream wardrobe is that of a six year old girl – give me sparkles and tutus and heels and I’d be thrilled. While I’m yet to find the perfect tutu, this jacket has hit the sweet spot.
Staying warm – and a little fancy – is a problem I often have during winter. Summer is easy, with its floaty cocktail dresses and open-toed heels – neither of which is a viable option between June to August. This sequinned jacket (a similar one here) is my winter smart-dressing dreams come true. Surprisingly warm and the perfect addition to a simple dress, I see it getting a lot of wear over the coming months. I’m definitely going to try it with my favourite jeans, white T and heels too.
If, like me, your spirit animal is also a disco-lovin’ magpie, you can view Superbalist’s range of sequinned gems here.
Whether winter is your thing – or not – we can all agree that there are a good few weeks of chill left for us to deal with. You may as well make the most of it and treat yourself to something stylish and warm to see you through the worst of it.
