Towards the end of last year, the team from Sustainable.co.za contacted me to ask if I’d like to try a little decorating with their LED icicle lights. Not one to shy away from the sparkle and twinkle, we quickly got a few hooks and strung them up. This was the week before Christmas. They aren’t coming down.
A two -meter chain, you’ve likely seen them in shopping centres- with sockets at either end you can build your chain of lights as long as you’d like. They’re energy-friendly – and the LEDs make them more robust than normal fairy lights – we’ve all worked through a string before, trying to find that one bulb that isn’t working.
We received the cool-tone lights – with a warm tone option also available. While I always expected them to be pretty, I thought of them more as decoration – and not really as lights. However, these are so bright, we actually use them to light the entire dining area – with no candles, side lamps or overhead lights needed.
Our lights are firmly in place – and we have no intention of taking them down. A bit of a talking-point, they’re pretty and practical – winners all round. We love them so much we’re even looking at these – ‘curtain lights‘ to hang above our headboard. Because, magic everywhere.
We received these lights to review from Sustainable.co.za. All views are my own. All images taken with a Canon EOS 600D from Loot.co.za
