You know those people who spend the last week of autumn putting away their “summer clothes”, and bringing down their winter wardrobe from storage? Well, that’s not me.
My wardrobe can be described as “multi-seasonal”, at best. Apart from one or two thick jerseys, I wear my items throughout the year. Dresses go from summer to winter with the addition of tights and a cardigan, and pants are simply re-purposed with boots instead of pumps.
So, when Superbalist asked me to create a post showcasing my winter wishlist and a few layering tricks, I felt I was just the girl for the job.
The formula was simple: 1 dress + 1 coat + 1 pair of boots = multifunctional winter style.
The coat
I love colour in winter – and just happen to be going through a bit of a prints phase. This coat checks (!) all the boxes, so to speak. It’s easy to get weighed down with brown, black and grey when the weather gets cooler. I see gloomy skies as incentive to bring even more colour into my life. This statement coat looks cosy and definitely fulfills my need for colour on dreary days. Available in sizes XS – L, R1 299.
The dress
I love denim, and always wonder why I don’t have more of it in my cupboard. This denim shirt dress can be dressed up and down, and is infinitely versatile. With tights and boots in winter, will rolled up sleeves and sandals in summer, it’s the quintessential all-seasons piece for your wardrobe. Available in sizes 34 – 42, R649.
The boots
Ah, Hunter boots. Quintessentially British, give me a puddle and a few crisp leaves to throw around, and I’m set. English country manor an added extra. Available in sizes 3 – 7, R2 449.
